Before using the strips, it's crucial to read the user manual/instruction leaflet carefully. Here's a step-by-step guide for checking your blood glucose level at home with the help of the glucose monitor: Wash your hands with soap and water, patting them dry with a towel. Optionally, use an alcohol swab to clean your finger before testing, ensuring it's completely dry. Remove the diabetes test strip from the box and insert it into the glucometer slot just before pricking your finger. Use a clean lancet or insert a clean needle in the lancet to prick the side of your fingertip. Wait until blood oozes out, wipe off the first drop gently, and put a drop or two onto the designated place on the test strip attached to the glucometer. Hold a clean cotton pad or gauze on the prick site to stop blood flow and apply pressure until the bleeding stops. Your blood glucose level will appear on the meter's display. Note down your readings to monitor glucose levels over time. Repeat this procedure every time you test your blood glucose level for accurate and consistent results.
